Respiratory
disorders, also called lung diseases, are disorders that affect the human
respiratory system. It affects almost every human being at some time in
their lives. Asthma, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis, Lung Cancer, etc are some
of the major respiratory diseases. Ayurveda classifies respiratory diseases
in to two main categories; Kasa (cough) and Swasa (difficulty in breathing).
Respiratory diseases in Ayurveda are considered to be a result of the
vitiated doshas. Ayurvedic treatments are aimed at rectifying the vitiated
doshas and to bring the doshas back to normalcy.
